Lucky Star by Cathy Cassidy
This book is called "Lucky Star". It is written by Cathy Cassidy. The book is set in modern times and the genre is teenage fiction.

Mouse has been in care since he was seven years old. He lives with his mum in Eden Estate and has been in trouble with the police for graffiti. He got suspended for putting graffiti on the school wall. One day he finds a dog out on the street. It gets run over by a girl on a bike and together Cat (the girl) and Mouse take the dog (Lucky) to the vet. Together they graffiti on drug dealers' doors and accidentally interrupt a drug raid.

The police take Mouse and Cat away to the station for vandalism and out comes a big secret. Cat is not fourteen, she is only twelve and Mouse's social worker is her dad. They stop being friends for about a month. I feel this is important because you should never trust someone you've only just met.

I felt Cat was someone to be friends with but would also bring trouble. Cat is very daring and cheeky and has a life anyone would give a lot for but she just doesn't want it.

I think what Cathy had in mind was to show the reader how two opposite lives can never get in the way of friendship. I think this because Mouse lives in a block of flats with drug dealers in the area. Cat lives in a posh house with three floors.

It left me thinking about what if that was me? What would it feel like? Would I like it?
